What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

A Woman’s Offering

Story - The Beginners Bible page 450

Song – “Father Abraham”

Song – “He's got the whole world in His hands”

Game – “Penny Pitch”

  • Jesus pointed out to his disciples the difference between the offering of the rich people and the poor woman.  While Jesus wants us all to give to others, the woman’s offering was a sacrifice.
  • Place a basket close to the children and have them try to toss their pennies (plastic coins) in it.  Slowly move it further away.

Snack – Star Dot to Dot

  • Jesus showed us how important meaningful giving is.  When we have a lot, a little doesn't mean as much as when we have a little and give the same amount.
  • Give each child a dot to dot.  When completed everyone has a happy star.

Art – A Full Heart

  • In our story today, a woman brought a small sum of money that meant a lot to her to give to the church.  It doesn't matter how much you give, but Jesus wants us to share with others.  When we share, our hearts fill with happiness.
  • Use cereal with glue to fill the heart.
