What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

The Singer [the Sermon on the Mount]

Story - The Jesus Story Book page 228

Song – “Jesus Hokey Pokey”

Song – “Jesus Loves Me”

Game – Food Transfer

  • There are many foods that God provides for birds.  If God makes sure that the birds have food to eat, will He take care of us, too? Yes. We are more important than birds. God takes care of the details so that we can concentrate on living right.
  • Break the children up into two groups.  The object is to get a spoonful of bird food back as fast as you can without dropping any.  The first group runs down and gets a scoop of bird food out of a bowl and brings it back.  The first person in the group to cross the line with all their food wins that round.  Then the next group goes after all dropped corn is swept (or picked) up.

Story Magnifier – Megaphone

  • God will always provide for His children, because He loves us.
  • Decorate a piece of paper, roll into megaphone and secure with tape to spread the good word.

Art – Prayer Cards

  • Jesus gave us the “Our father” to pray to God at the Sermon on the Mount.
  • Glue the “Our father” onto a piece of cardboard.  Decorate the cardboard.
