What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

St. Patrick

Story - The Story of Saint Patrick’s Day

Song – “He's got the whole world in His hands”

Song – “Deep and Wide”

Game – “Flag Race”

  • As a child, Patrick was taken to Ireland.  After praying to God to send him home, he began to miss Ireland and came back as a Priest to spread God’s love.
  • Divide the kids into three groups (just like the holy trinity).  Hand each child an Irish flag.  The first child in each group runs their flag to a basket, then slithers (like the snakes that Patrick told to leave Ireland) through the tunnel to tag the next person in their group.

Story Magnifier – Playdough Churches

  • When Patrick returned to Ireland, he told people about God and built churches.
  • Use the green playdough to make a church, symbol of God, or something else from our story today.  Note:  playdough is not going home, just being used.

Art – Holy Trinity Crosses

  • Patrick used a shamrock to teach people about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  Just like when we make the Sign of the Cross, we say the holy trinity.
  • Glue the cross onto the shamrock and a heart for each part of the Holy Trinity.
