What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

The Easter Story

Story - Pray & Play Bible 2 p. 150

Song – “Jesus Loves Me”

Song – “Deep and Wide”

Game – “Egg Race”

  • Egg is a symbol at Easter time because it reminds us of new life.  Jesus loved us so much that he was willing to give his life for our sins so that we may be reborn in the Kingdom of God.
  • Divide the kids into two-four groups.  Hand one child on each team a spoon with an egg on it.  Deliver the egg to the Easter basket.  Do not touch the egg when walking to the basket.  If the egg falls off, run back and hand the spoon to the next person.  The next person run to the fallen egg to pick it up and continue the journey.

Art – Eggy Crosses

  • If you open a plastic Easter egg, it is empty just like the tomb where Jesus was placed.  God fills us with love, so we are never empty when we walk with God.
  • Use the half of plastic Easter egg to stamp on the cross.

Story Magnifier – Crosses

  • Decorate a scratch off cross.  If extra time, use the resurrection eggs.
