What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

The Resurrection

Story - The Jesus Storybook Bible pg 310

Song – “Jesus Hokey Pokey”

Song – “I may never march in the infantry"

Game – “Jesus Is Risen”

  • Have children sit on floor facing a table tipped over on its side.  Tell children to close their eyes and pretend to cry because that is what people did when Jesus died on the cross.  Pick one child to hide behind the table pretending to be an angel.  Let the other children open their eyes and try to guess who is missing.  After the child’s name is guessed (or three tries) have the angel jump up and exclaim, “Jesus is Risen.”

Snack – Coffee Filter Angels

  • Decorate Coffee Filters (2).  Fold one filter for wings and another for a skirt.  Add a circle head and staple.

Art – Empty circles

  • The plastic egg is empty just like the tomb where Jesus was laid.  Dip half a plastic egg into paint and make empty circle prints on paper.
