What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

Baby Moses

Story - Moses in the Bulrushes

Song – “I may never march in the infantry"

Song – “If you are Happy and you Know It”

Game – “Moses on the River”

  • Place a doll in a basket to represent baby Moses in the basket.  Place a zigzag or crooked line of tape across the floor.  Have children stand along the line so that no one is close enough to touch another person.  Remind children that the river was a dangerous place where god protected Moses.  The children are the reeds that lined the river and they need to push Moses from one reed to the next.

Story Magnifier – Baskets

  • Use a Styrofoam cup as the base and poke chenille stems into the sides to look like a basket weave.  Decorate a piece of paper to be the blanket to go inside.  Use a bead to represent the baby.

Art – The River

  • Moses was placed on the river, but the river was a dangerous place.
  • Using blue paint, paint a river on a piece of paper
