What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

Song – “Church Action Rhyme”

Song – “Jesus Hokey Pokey”

Game – “Missing in Action”

  • In our Bible Story, Jesus’ family was walking home and suddenly noticed he was missing.
  • Have all children cover their eyes and choose one child to “hide” around the corner.  After the child is hidden have other children open eyes and try to figure out who is missing.
  • You can also have all the children or more than one hide and go find the children, but make sure you give specific guideline to where they may go.

Story Magnifier – The Search

  • In our story today, Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the church.  Just like Jesus is a part of the church, so are you.
  • Use the Lincoln Logs and Legos to build churches as a group.  Have the teacher go around with a doll and ask each building group I they have seen Jesus.

Art – Kid Cards

  • In our story today, Mary and Joseph found Jesus in the church.  Just like Jesus is a part of the church, so are you.
  • Draw with markers to design yourself on the outside of the card.  Using stickers and markers design what is inside of you (soul, feelings, compassion, etc.)
