What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

Pascual and the Kitchen Angels

Story - Pascual and the Kitchen Angels

Song – “’Tis a Gift to be Simple”

Song – “Deep and Wide”

Game – “SHARE”

  • Line 2 teams up at one end of the playing area. At the go the first player from each team runs to find one of the letters from the word, SHARE. Players can only look under one plate during their turn. Once they lift a plate, they either bring the found letter back or run back if there’s no letter.  Teams need to pay attention so that they don't go back to the same empty plate. Play continues like this until the teams find all the letters in the word, SHARE.

Story Magnifier – Pretzel Bracelet

  • Pretzels were first made by monks who gave them as rewards to children who had learned their prayers. The special twisted shape looks like the folded arms of a child praying. The word pretzel means reward.
  • Using a pipe cleaner, weave through three pretzels.  Bend the pipe cleaner around the wrist and twist it to make a bracelet.

Art – Feast

  • Pascual is the patron saint of cooks and the kitchen.  In our story, Pascual had the help of angels to make food to feed the hungry.
  • Use grocery advertisements to cut out food for a feast and glue on a plate.
