What is Cherub Church you ask?

Cherub Church is St. Jude's Religious Education Preschool Program, offered during the 10:30 Mass in the early childhood area of the Parish Center basement. Preschoolers, ages 3 to 6, engage in interactive activities to reinforce the Bible point of the day. Through this program, preschoolers develop a sense of community and belonging to the parish of St. Jude.

Elijah

Story - Pray and Play bible

Song – “This Little Light of Mine”

Song – “Father Abraham”

Game – “Elijah’s Altar”

  • Have the children sit in a circle on the floor and begin passing the ball around the circle.  Say: Listen while you pass the ball, and when you hear me say, “The Lord is God,” I want the person holding the ball to throw it into the air.  The ball will come down like the fire came down from heaven in our story.

Story Magnifier – Altar Stones

  • In our story, Elijah put stones around the wood before God set it on fire.
  • Choose and decorate a stone to remind yourself of God’s strength.

Art – Cotton Ball Clouds

  • After three years of a drought, the people of Israel stopped worshiping false gods and the curse was lifted.
  • Using cotton balls and glue, make your own rain cloud.
